ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TNPSC The TAMIL NADU PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (TNPSC) is the branch authorized by government of Tamil Nadu which is highly cautious about recruiting personnel for the state’s public service and the first Provincial Public Service Commission in India, all the day to day administration, departmental promotion committees , oral tests for recruitment etc.., are being held by The Secretary of Commission. TNPSC hall tickets, notifying and conducting recruitments and departmental examination have been regulated by The Controller of Exams. TNPSC GROUP I
TNPSC Combined Civil Service Exam (Group-I Services), which is conducted by the body of TNPSC has the total of 69 vacancies (Based on 2020 survey) and has three stages in the exam.

Exam Pattern

1 Prelims One objective paper 300 marks
2 Mains Three descriptive papers 750 marks
3 Interview - 100 marks

ELIGIBILITY

The general eligibility criteria for the candidates are; Citizenship, character and antecedent, no bigamy, related to applicants already in government service, sound health, knowledge of Tamil etc., The age limit is 21-38 (for SC, SC(A), ST, MBC, DC, BC, BCM and DW) and 21-33 (for others). The required educational qualification is a graduate degree from a recognized university. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION is required for the post of DSP and District Officer (Fire and Rescue).

TNPSC GROUP II
TNPSC Combined Civil Service Exam (Group-II Services), CCSE-II has been conducted for various posts covers under Group 2 and 2A. Group 2 includes the interview posts whereas Group 2A includes non-interview posts. It is conducted once a year in an offline mode.

Exam Pattern

1 Prelims 175+25 questions in two sections 300 marks
2 Mains 14 questions 300 marks
3 Interview - 40 marks

ELIGIBILITY

The advantage of this exam is that the candidate can apply for the preliminary exam when he or she is in his/her final year although the eligibility of the candidate is a graduate degree from an UGC approved university .The minimum age is 18 and there is no age limit for BC, BCM, SC, and ST whereas for other castes the maximum age limit is 30.

It is a non-interview exam conducted by TNPSC which additionally includes Aptitude and Mental ability test along with General Tamil, General English and General studies.

3 General Tamil /General English 100 150

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

For Group 2A, the candidate applying for a personal clerk is required to pass the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand (Typewriting) in both Tamil and English by higher grade.

Two papers will be there for candidates where they have type 1 in which they will have General Tamil and type 2 in which they have General English from which they can choose any one of the type whereas the rest will be the same for both the Types(AMA and General Studies).

ELIGIBILITY

For Typist and Steno-Typist, Grade III, the candidates are required to pass S.S.L.C Public Examination. The technical qualification for typist is to have higher senior or junior grade in any one of the languages (Tamil / English). However, the candidate should have at least the lower or junior grade in other languages (Tamil/ English) and should have passed The Government Technical Examination in Typewriting. The candidates are also required to pass the “Computer on Office Automation” as their technical qualification. The minimum age limit is 18 and it varies according to the caste divisions. for BC, BCM, it is 32 and for SC, and ST, ST(A), DW, it is 35 whereas for other castes the maximum age limit is 30.
