The OSCE assesses the candidate’s ability to be competent, apply their professional nursing or midwifery skills and knowledge in the UK.
OSCEs or Objective Structured Clinical Exams are the practical exams of medical school. The exam aims to prepare the candidates for the clinical and communication aspects of becoming a doctor or a nurse (certified healthcare professional). They seem difficult, but with enough practice, the candidate is able to score well.
OSCE tests a circuit of short stations, (the usual is 5–10 minutes although some use up to 15 minute) in which each candidate is examined on a one-to-one basis with one or two examiners who are impartial, with real or simulated patients.
