Criteria required for taking MBBS admission in the USA

An applicant must have passed the MCAT in order to get admission to a university in the United States. The Medical College Admission Test – MCAT – is mandated by the large proportion of US medical schools. MCAT exams are given several times a year in various US locations as well as in some locations outside the US. If you have an MBBS degree or are studying for one, you can register without seeking special permission from the AAMC – Association of American Medical Colleges.

The MCAT exam assesses a student’s knowledge of Anatomy, Biology – Histology – Embryology, General and Organic Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, and Sociology at the UG or degree level. A high MCAT score increases one’s chances of furthering MBBS in the United States.

Minimum qualification required:

An aspirant must be a science graduate in order to apply to MBBS colleges in the United States. Most prestigious colleges and universities admit graduates to the MBBS (MD) program based on their Science graduation as well as their MCAT score.

Minimum 7 bands in IELTS

Minimum 90 Marks in TOEFL is Required.

As per MCI requirement one should be 10+2 with minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Biology and NEET Pass.

Students must have completed a Pre - medical course which is a Bachelor of Science in order to be admitted to MBBS programmes in the United States.

TOEFL score should be above 90

Course duration

The course duration of MBBS (MD) in USA is 4 years. After completion, a residential program is available to students , which varies from 3 to 7 years. The students are provided with highly supervised practical training keeping in mind the choice of their field.
