The PTE Academic assesses test takers in listening, reading, speaking, and writing using a computer. The total test duration lasts for approximately 2 hours. To take the PTE Academic test, the candidates must attend an exam at a secure Pearson test centre.

SPEAKING & WRITING (approximately 54 – 67 minutes)
The Speaking and Writing section evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English. It includes a variety of tasks, such as repeating sentences, describing images, and writing essays. This section tests your ability to articulate ideas clearly, use correct grammar, and maintain fluency in both spoken and written formats.
READING ( approximately 32 – 41 minutes)
The Reading section measures your ability to understand and interpret written texts. You will be asked to answer multiple-choice questions, fill in missing words, and reorder paragraphs to assess your comprehension and reasoning skills. This section focuses on your ability to read and analyze academic texts, which is essential for university-level study.
LISTENING (approximately 45 – 57 minutes)
In the Listening section, you’ll listen to audio recordings, such as lectures, conversations, and discussions, and then answer related questions. This section evaluates your ability to understand spoken English in both academic and everyday contexts. You’ll need to demonstrate strong listening comprehension skills, as well as the ability to identify key information, infer meaning, and summarize content.

There are number of questions range from 28-36 in speaking and writing, 13-18 questions in Reading, and 12-20 in Listening will be attended by the candidates on the test day.
